Mimic: The Director's cut Blu-Ray becomes an imago the 27th September

Director Guillermo del Toro (Pan's Labyrinth, Blade IIHellBoy) has always been dissatisfied with what came to be Mimic, the reason being the forced decisions of Miramax films and the Weinstein company, which, among other forcings such as the language the film was to be filmed with, dramatically changed the ending of the film which didn't receive good reactions at test screenings of the film. The original ending was recently released, though in a warranted poor quality, in the web by Joblo.com (you can see it here). On July 11th, 2011, Blu-ray.com has reported the announcement of the much-waited Blu-ray release of Mimic, planned for the 27th of September, which will feature a good load of extras that were shamefully absent in the rather disappointing 1998 DvD release. Among those, as you can read in the cover above, the Blu-Ray will feature the director's cut of the film, with seven additional minutes of restored footage. The other extras will be -
-Introduction and Audio Commentary from Director Guillermo del Toro
-Reclaiming Mimic- Featurette with Del Toro discussing his vision for the film and how he completed the new version.
-A Leap in Evolution: The Creatures of Mimic- Featurette looking at the creatures in Mimic
-Back into the Tunnels: Shooting Mimic- Behind the scenes featurette.
Deleted/Alternate Scenes
-Outtakes
-Gag Reel
-Storyboard Animatics
-Theatrical Trailer
